Technics Jargon

If you read about Technics© you see a lot of jargon being used. Here I try to explain the important bits & pieces.

Beam

Beams are the main building block of your LEGO models. They’re measured in the amount of spaces between the holes, called “modules” or M for short.

Beams come in many shapes.

Pegs

Pegs are a whole family of connecting parts:

Friction Pegs

These give a more solid and frictioned connection.

Smooth Pegs

These allow parts to move/rotate freely.

Axles

Axles are color coded by length. Even-numbered lengths (2M, 4M, 6M, etc.) are black, and odd-numbered lengths (3M, 5M, etc.) are gray. They come even as large as 32M

Connectors

Connectors come in many shapes and allow you to connect the variaty of beams with eachother to create more realistic models and shapes.

Gears

A gear is a toothed wheel and it’s used to transfer power or movement.
